In the distance were palm groves with thousands of palm trees. I have no idea but my best guess is they are raising them for palm oil.

Maybe next trip.
These guys were taking off right behind a gas station along the hiway.

Beautiful desert-scape (Also known as the Badlands)
Almost like painted mountains
Borrego Springs in the distance (palm tree oasis)
Golf course in town
There are probably 100 rusty metal sculptures all over the desert floor near Borrego Springs. We'll find out more and report later. So far all we can tell is that they are there and they are really cool pieces of art.

Campground office and golf pro shop
The streets of Borrego Springs RV Resort

Christmas Circle
The circle is the center of the unincorporated town. They hold various events like a farmers market which we went to on Friday. Great avocado tamales with green chili verde and strawberries (of course).
Right on Christmas Circle is our bank so it was handy if we needed more quarters for the washers and dryers.
Entering Anza Borrego State Park
The campground in the park . Many sites with water and electric and then more "dry" camps all around.
A unique setup.
Drive up, set up and enjoy your own private Ramada.
Happy campers in front of an LA fan palm tree.
This roadrunner is stuffed and on display in the visitor's center.
Along with a snowy white owl....

We think this is the Indian Head (laying down, face up?)
This cactus is getting close to blooming.
In about a month the valley floor will be covered in blooms.
This one is getting a head start.
A roadrunner came by our campsite to say good morning. Too bad he turned his head before the picture was snapped.
The neighbors came out to see him too.
Sunrise. What a way to start a day! Did we say how much we love this town and this area????????
