On to Yucaipa - May 1st.

After living in the desert for 4 months it was nice to see more grass and bushes. Even the wildflowers along the hiway were a cool sight to see. (Doesn't take much to please us) We headed out for a town called Yucaipa. Sort of near Big Bear. The winds have kicked up so we are trying to avoid them. To get past them we had to run the gauntlet of the Coachella Valley. The wind tried to kick the motorhome into the ditch several times.

But we made it. And we found a great San Bernardino County park. What a gem.

Park entrance.

Hard to see but these are pictures of some BIG trout that were caught in the park.

We were up against the foothills. Just before the fires started.

Nice camp spot.

"Out back" there were additional sites.

Even Frisbee Golf.

And water slides.

And a swimming beach.

This is where the trout were caught.

I'll call it a soaring Eagle. (Maybe it was turkey vulture.)

Environmental Science camp? Sounded great but we didn't find it.

We even had a visitor over for dinner.
Tomorrow we should be in Bakersfield. Not a garden spot but a good place to stop for the night while we make our way north towards home.
