March 30th - Good Bye/Hello

We are getting ready to leave Yuma Palms :-(  We had such a wonderful time in this park.  We met some really great people and the weather was fabulous.  Also did some fun shopping :-)
Kirt is getting ready to unhook everything.  Jerry, our neighbor is over for one last
friendly conversation.

Our next door neighbors, Kaye & Jerry.  A very cute fun couple!  Thanks to
them.....  we now know the rules of shuffleboard.  (That's not to say we "know how
to play."  That will take some more practice!)  But we sure like the game!

Jerry said he never watched someone hook up their car.  (He drives a truck & 5th wheel).

Good bye Arizona :-(  Hello California :-)

Someone's home on the outskirts of Yuma.  Notice the lush, green fields.  One of
the many crops they grow here is Durum wheat, the wheat they use to make pasta.

Who ever would have thought you would find such lovely green fields in the desert near Yuma!

I couldn't stop taking pictures of these gorgeous green fields.  Such an incredible
contrast with the beautiful blue sky.

On the other side of the Coast to Coast Bridge in Yuma.

I dunno!!!!!!   You make the call!  A church on a hill?  As Kirt would say, "build
it and they will come!"

Lots of sand dunes for 4 wheelin.

Love those straight lines.  Sorry about the finger print(s) on the lens.  I
"might" be in the market for a new camera????

Can you see the ATV riders along the road here in the dunes?

Campers all over the dunes area....  here there and everywhere!

Sugar?  By Spreckels Sugar plant.

SEA LEVEL!

Lots of trucks filled with carrots!  Maybe from Calexico.

Intersecting roads but the east & west roads don't go anywhere!  Have you
ever seen this sign?
Cars were lined up for a mile to go through this AZ/CA border crossing.  But
when you finally got there.... they waved you on.  Maybe we looked like we didn't have
any aliens on board???

So if they warn you a mile ahead, wouldn't you have time to turn around without anyone noticing - hopefully before all these cameras took your picture?

That's our turn off to Borrego Springs :-)

Going through Ocotillo Wells, the countryside was filled with Ocotillos in bloom (red flowers on the tops).

That's my red petunia basket on the dash :-)  Can you see the red hues in the countryside?

Some of the rusty metal sculptures in the desert near Borrego (as we told you about in January).

I just love this gorgeous valley as you come down to Borrego Springs!!!!!

Now these folks like to live in the middle of nowhere!!!!!

There is a car parked next to this Eagle & Nest sculpture.  It gives you an
idea of the scale.

Outskirts of Borrego Springs.

Coming down "home stretch" to The Springs at Borrego RV Resort.  The driveway
in is just 1/4 mile or less.  Can you see why I love it here so much????
