More toys in the desert.
We left Borrego Springs and headed toward Parker Arizona for a few days. Parker is on The Colorado River. We'll stop for a night en route in a little town called Desert Center, CA.

Gonna rent some of these next time we're here.

Along the way were millions of palm trees being raised for???? Duno!

We went in search of groceries so we got off the hiway and wandered.

Hard to tell where old town started and new town ended.
But La Quinta is a nice little town in the Coachella Desert.

More oranges just hanging there for the picking.

After leaving the Coachella Valley and driving for a while we found Desert Center and a great little RV and park model trailer village.
There was a party forming across the street. People bringing in the chairs.
It was right next to a county golf course so it was the main attraction.  $15 for 9 holes or $120 for 10 rounds of 9.  Great deal!

From what we could see it looked like a nice course considering where we were..

Coming home from a round of golf.

This little walkway led to Tamarisk Lake.

A great little lake in the middle of the desert.

With a beautiful sundown.

And the songbirds were everywhere.

Condors circled over the lake.

  1. LOVE this stop! Seems like a nice and relaxing place. --- So, after a quick Google search it turns out Palm trees are raised for crafts, and for garnishing flower arrangements, as well as for digging up, potting, and selling to landscapers/homeowners! ;)
