March 7, 2013 Tombstone, Arizona

We took a little trip to Tombstone, AZ.  I think these are the Santa Rita Mtns, a little south of town.  All the mountain ranges surrounding Tucson and heading south out of town are really lovely.
It was another lovely, warm day with blue skies up above!

The other side of the road has mountains with snow on the tops.

This is a golf cart cruising along the shoulder.

This remains a tourist destination throughout the summer, due to its elevation..... much cooler than the desert valley!

Hard to tell but these are childrens (girls) cowgirl boots.  I wore red cowgirl boots just like these when I was little.

I asked him where he got the cool shoes.  Said he got these kicks from Ross and they're all leather.

Recognize this cute confederate in his beard???  The hat was a little small and we searched for one his size but to no avail :-(

This is a motorhome on fire in front of O'Reilly Auto Parts.  Sure hope the owners were in the store.

One very important thing we forgot to write about is all the friendly people in this Rincon West RV Resort.  When we arrived last Sunday, we were greeted and invited to a gathering where we ate homemade chili and hot dogs and met all of the fun people parked around us.  Last night we all gathered in the street (everyone brought their own lawn chair) and we sang songs and told jokes.  This fellow with the guitar is in a band, writes songs, and has a CD.  He was very good and he had some funny songs about men turning 60.  There were folks from all over the country - from Canada to PA, NY, OR, WA, to name a few.  This is the friendliest park we have been in.
